Sakthi Institute of Information and Management Studies (SIIMS), Pollachi proudly organised a National Seminar on "Socio-Economic Perspectives of Demonetization in India" on 24th February 2017 at Prof. C.K. Prahalad Hall, SIIMS.
Dr. P. Subramanian, Director, SIIMS welcomed the gathering. Mr. P. Bala Subramanian, Chief Manager & Branch Head, The Times of India, Coimbatore has delivered the Presidential address. In his address he stated that the demonetization has impacted the country at all sector of the economy.
Followed by this, there were three sessions on various perspectives like Academic, Banking and Industry.
Prof. V. Kanagarajan, Former Director Grade Scientist, NAL, Bengaluru, Mr.R. Natarajan, Chartered Accountant, Pollachi, Mr.V. Balaji, Managing Partner, Sarathy TVS, Pollachi were the resource persons for the technical sessions. The technical session summed up that “The intentions behind demonetisation were positive and in keeping with broader reform efforts, the fruitfulness will be known only in the near future.”
Mr.G.D.Gopalakrishnan, President, Pollachi Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Pollachi has delivered the validictary address and distributed the certificates for the participants from varied grounds ranging from students, research scholars, academicians and other professionals.
