Every year students from various disciplines join MBA in our institution. We believe it is our responsibility to make the students to understand the basics and core value of the master’s degree in business administration. In order to bridge the gap between your undergraduate and this professional degree we conduct this bridge course.
People from industry as well as academia were invited to share their valuable knowledge and experience to make the students to understand the importance of this professional degree. This event’s eminent dignitaries were channeled by our beloved President Dr. B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar. Under his able guidance the Bridge Course 2017 took off on 16th August 2017.
On 16th August 2017, we started with the inauguration of the bridge course 2017. The session started with the welcome address from our Director Dr. P. Subramanian who insisted the students to follow the principles of Swami Vivekananda to succeed in life. He thanked and appreciated the students for opting SIIMS for their higher studies and he promised that all their expectations will be fulfilled.
The session was graced by two eminent personalities namely Mr. R. Malar Vannan Fernando, Chief People Officer, Pricol Limited, Coimbatore. In his special address he talked on the topic “Champion management” in which he highlighted to do the task not only on interest but also with commitment either it is studies or career. He also insisted to follow Valluvapperunthakai and Puratchikavi to succeed in life. The session continued with the second speaker Mr. Srinivas Sastri, Chief Human Resource Officer, Sakthi Groups, Coimbatore. In his key note address, he insisted the students on the importance of updating oneself as well as their ability in handling multi tasks which is given prime importance in today’s corporate world. The inaugural session successfully concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. R. Thiyagu, Professor & Head academics.
The afternoon session was headed by Mr. Sivakumar Palaniappan, Master Mind Academy, Coimbatore and chaired by Dr. S. Ayyappan, Associate Professor, SIIMS. He highlighted on three important traits that a students should inculcate in them, which are imagination, interest and creativity. The session was so lively and interactive.
The day two, that is 17th August 2017, the forenoon session was handled by Ms. Neethu Hariraj, Managing Partner, Coir on, Pollachi and chaired by Mr. A. Kandeepan, Assistant professor, SIIMS. In her session, she talked on creative thinking, entrepreneur skills and today’s expectation of industry on MBA students.
The afternoon session was headed by Ms. Brijitha, Manager HR, Messer Cutting Systems India Limited, Coimbatore and chaired by Dr. R. Kavitha, Associate Professor, SIIMS. She went one step ahead conveying the message that, today students should not only focus on their career but also on social responsibility which will enable the individuals to sustain in the competitive environment. She also insisted on the importance of planting as many saplings as possible in one’s life time.
The day three that is 18th august 2017, the new comers were taken to Aliyar Arivu Thiru Kovil along with three of our faculty members namely Ms. Priyatharshini, Ms. Kunthavi Nappinnai and Mr. Sakthivadivel to expose the student on human ethos and values.
The afternoon session was handled by Mr. S. Shyamsundar, Head-Training and Placements, SIIMS. He explained the functions of the placement cell and the kind of training we provide to students. He insisted the students to enhance their communication and decision making skills to succeed in their career launch pad.
The day four, today started with the guest Dr. S. Manikandan, CEO and Chief Trainer, Youth Corp Training and Consultancy, Pollachi and the session was chaired by Mr. A. Giriprakash, Assistant professor, SIIMS. Dr. Manikandan made the session very lively and interactive by providing the students with live assignments in which the students actively participated.
For this valedictory function we have Dr. K. Natesan Vice President, OSM & HR, Sakthi Finance Limited, Coimbatore, will deliver the valedictory address and hour the students with certificates. He insisted on grabbing any opportunity that comes by to succeed in life.
Overall, the Bridge Course 2017 was an immensely an effective orientation program for our first year students.
